2nd day on Nile Cruise

The next morning we got to sleep in and then went to breakfast. That day we stopped at a little town where there was a little shopping market that we got to get off and shop at. I got Coptic Jars to put sand in for my friends. My mom got scarves, a stone cat, and pretty perfume bottles. My sister got a camel purse. I did really good bargaining that people asked me to help them and I got them really good deals. On the boat I met a lot of neat people a few are: David (a firefighter from Massachusetts), Jen and her mother Cathy (who are from Florida and we became really close with them), Fred (who is a musician and has a ankh tattoo on his chest like my dad, but I can’t remember where he was from), and a bunch of other people. One guy was a middle school substitute in Las Angeles and I had fun talking to him about what he thought of 8th graders, his wife Alexandra is a Spanish teacher so she helped me with a few questions I had in Spanish. The food on the boat was o.k. I guess. It was always a buffet with dessert for any meal and sometimes the food was cold but it was pretty good. My favorite meal was the beef and lasagna as main courses. Ok back to the day .After shopping we hopped back on the boat and started off again. We came to a lock and it was really neat to see how it worked. As we approached it though a bunch of row boats hooked onto our ship and they had a bunch of things with them like dresses, towels, blankets ext… They would throw up a bunch of things and if u liked any you would negotiate price then throw the money down back in the bag (remember they were on little row boats and we were on the top deck of our cruise ship). If you didn’t want it you would throw it back down (which I quite enjoyed) but sometimes it would fall in the water. As they were throwing things up my mom was the only person hit in the head twice! It was so sad then my sister threw it back down as hard as she could yelling, “You hit my mom!” Everyone laughed except the people below. When we got on the lock the commotion stopped but it was the coolest way of shopping that I have ever done! The rest of the day till evening we relaxed on the boat and just cruised on the Nile. When we arrived at our destination that evening we went to see a cool temple in the dark. It was neat! Then we came back onboard, ate dinner, then crashed.

Oh Aria! Your stories are great!! Keep up the great work on your blogs -- They give me the "real" story. ;)

I hope you enjoyed Firenze, and can't wait to hear your story about it.
